A customer is standing next to their trade-in, keys in hand, waiting for your offer. Or you have spotted a car at an auction or a private yard that looks perfect. This is the moment when knowing the car's history matters most, because it is the moment before you commit.
CarCheck works on a phone, so you can run a check when you are looking at a car away from the yard. You can search by plate number or VIN. Dealers use it to check vehicles they are buying or taking in as trade-ins, and the answer comes back while you are still standing there.
The Full Check also searches previous plates. That matters because a plate change can hide a registered security, and searching earlier plates helps make sure nothing is missed.
After a Basic or Full check, you can create a Consumer Information Notice (the CIN card), a Vehicle Summary Sheet and a Purchase Agreement at no extra cost. So the same check that tells you about the car also starts your paperwork.
The report data goes straight into Motorcentral DMS, so you do not need to type it in again. You can also transfer ownership into your dealership's name online, using the MR13C through NZTA, rather than filling in forms by hand.
A quick check before you shake hands gives you a clear picture to work from. If everything lines up, you can make your offer with confidence. If something does not match, you find out before you have committed to anything. Either way, you are making the call with the facts in front of you.
Make it a rule: no trade-in appraisal and no purchase without a check first. It takes a moment on your phone, and it becomes second nature quickly.
